Game Drives over the savannah plains |
Essentially the number one activity in the Mara is game driving. Originally the wild life was called Game as the colonial settlers played hunting games. Now we still shoot the wildlife but only with our Nikons, Minoltas and other cameras. A pure pleasure as you see something new every time. Game drives begin at 6.30 am in the morning after dawn and can last a whole day. However during the mid morning heat, it is almost impossible to see the carnivores as they tend to lie in the shadows of bushes and thickets. Evening game drives start at 3.30 pm and last until sunset. Many a times these culminate into Sundowners as you watch some of the most spectacular sunsets. |
Game drives for fly in guests are conducted in 4WD Toyota Landcruisers or Landrovers which can be booked in advance if you are driving as well.
