Some Rules to follow of Koiyaki - Lemek Wildlife Trust
  • Vehicles are not allowed into Tanzania and the trust will not assist or take any responsibilities of people arrested doing so.
  • During the migration, people are not allowed out of their vehicles or to stand on their vehicles at the crossing point.
  • Excessive vehicle movement, parking and cutting across too close to the crossing area is not permitted.
  • No more than 5 vehicles are permitted around leopards, lion or cheetah at any one time. Drivers should make room for any extra vehicles after they have spent about five minutes with the animals. Otherwise, there is not time restriction as to how long you can stay.
  • Vehicles are required to maintain a minimum distance of 25 meters - that's 5 vehicle lengths away from the animals - particularly the BIG FIVE.
  • Animals are not to be chased, followed too closely or harassed. Harassment includes getting too close to them - causing fear and making them run or forcing them to movement.
  • People are allowed out of the vehicles only at designated picnic sites, viewing points along the river and if they are accompanies by a professional guide provided no dangerous animals are in the vicinity. no one should be more than 25 meters from their vehicle.
  • No littering in the park. All litter should be taken back to the hotel and disposed off. There are vehicles dedicated to anti-harassment and monitoring  so please follow their advise and instructions.
